    Donald Trump, the Republican candidate and former President, has been elected as the 47th President of the United States. In a closely contested race, Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate and incumbent Vice President, returns to the White House after four years, having defeated her rival in the vice-presidential race.

Trump secured 276 electoral votes out of a total of 538, surpassing the 270 votes needed to win the presidency. His closest competitor, Kamala Harris, earned 219 electoral votes. Key victories in battleground states like Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Maine, and Pennsylvania were pivotal to Trump's success.

    This win makes Trump the first person in U.S. history to secure a second presidential term, marking a historic moment in the nation's 248-year history. In his victory speech, Trump expressed deep gratitude to the American people, vowing to always stand by them and promising to usher in a new era of prosperity. "This is a great victory for the American people," Trump declared, adding that the day would be remembered as a pivotal moment in the nation's history.

Trump declared, "I will lead America into a golden age. This will be a day Americans will look back on as one of the most important of their lives."

    He also took time to thank his wife, Melania, who he introduced as the First Lady. "Melania did a tremendous job," Trump said, praising her hard work and dedication to the country.

After the speech, Trump congratulated his running mate, JD Vance, stating, "Vance will be the next Vice President of the United States." Vance joined Trump on stage as part of the historic celebration.
