IGP went to UK to attend Interpol conference
Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) has gone to the UK to attend the 92nd General Session of Interpol. Moinul Islam is accompanied by AIG Ali Haider Chowdhury of Police Headquarters.
On Saturday (November 2) night, he will leave Dhaka for the United Kingdom to attend the four-day (November 4-7, 2024) Interpol 92nd General Session in Glasgow, United Kingdom. Representatives of 196 member countries of Interpol will participate in it.
According to the police headquarters, Bangladesh delegation along with police delegations from 13 countries in UK, USA, Canada, China, Malaysia, Australia, Turkey, Qatar, Germany, Maldives, South Korea, UAE and Italy and Human Resource Management (HRM) Department of Interpol. Bilateral discussions and exchange meetings will be held.
Besides, MoU regarding bilateral police cooperation will be signed between Bangladesh Police and Australian Federal Police. As a result, new doors of global police cooperation of Bangladesh Police will be opened.
It will feature four main interactive panels on Biometric Frontline Capabilities, AI and the Future of Policing, Sustainable Multilateralism – The Future of an Integrated Global Security Architecture and Law Enforcement Leadership, which will analyze various aspects of the organization's future of global crime and international policing.
After the conference, the police chief of Bangladesh is scheduled to return home on November 9.
Note that Bangladesh became a member of Interpol on October 14, 1976.
